Cooking with the Kaiju - Week One

Tartiflette

3-4 Large(ish) potatoes
1 Reblochon or Camembert Cheese
200g Bacon Lardons (Or you could use chorizo pieces)
2 Cloves Garlic minced
White wine
400ml Double Cream

Slice potatoes thinly and boil until tender, allow to cool
Fry the bacon until it starts to cook, add garlic and fry until cooked, add wine to deglaze pan, leave on low heat or you can take it off the heat.
Line the bottom of a casserole or dish with some of the potatoes
Add some of the bacon mixture and some of the cream
Cover with another layer of potatoes and repeat, make sure the last layer is of potatoes
Halve the cheese across the side, so that you have 2 round pieces and place on top cut into two rounds, with the outer layer uppermost
Cook at 180 for 10-12 Minutes

Leave to stand for a few minutes then serve with crusty bread or you could have Green Beans fried in Garlic and Butter
